Grapevine High School is an American High school located in the far northeast portion of Tarrant County in the city of Grapevine, Texas. It is essentially part of the Grapevine–Colleyville Independent School District. Grapevine has been categorized as one of the top 100 high schools in the United States of America by Newsweek magazine, and was named a 1999-2000 National Blue Ribbon School.〔(Blue Ribbon Schools Program, Schools Recognized 1982-1983 Through 1999-2002 (PDF) )〕 Students come from Cross Timbers Middle School, other portions of Colleyville Middle School and portion of Grapevine Middle School. Although Grapevine High School is in Grapevine, only half of the student body lives in Grapevine. The other half lives in Colleyville. ==Tradition==
GHS was established in the late nineteenth century by a group of settlers on the Grapevine prairie. The school had its first graduating class in 1907. In the year 2007, Grapevine celebrated its 100th year centennial as a Texas public high school. The school mascot is the mustang. School colors are red, white and royal blue. Grapevine school pep rallies have been known to be the most spirited pep rallies in the area. GHS has one of the most active high school alumni associations in the United States. Annually, the Ex-Students Association awards college scholarships, inducts deserving former students and teachers into the Hall of Fame, runs the annual Homecoming Parade on Main Street through historic downtown Grapevine, and sponsors the Alumni Homecoming dinner.
